Debunk: End times prophecy of increasing earthquakes

According to the nut jobs who claim there is significant evidence for the end times being now there has been an increase in the number of major earthquakes. Dr. David R. Reagan claims there is a greater instability in nature; the end times online selectively pulls the frequency of earthquakes for a high activity period leaving out key data; and the prophecy fellowship makes a list of earthquakes in 2010 and 2011 as if by just listing them it makes them more important than the actual data.

Unlike most of those sites who create their own graphs and data, here is an actual graph and link to data on global earthquakes:

You’ll see from the graph that we’ve definitely been in an active period but the overall trend in the amount of energy released from earthquakes has been decreasing since 1900. When you look at the numbers of global and US earthquakes you will see there are half as many quakes overall as well as in the 7.0 and above range, here is the link to the data:

http://www.johnstonsarchive.net/other/quake1.html

So our first debunk piece of the year to try to counterbalance the nut jobs who are claiming it’s all over in 2012 because of all of the overwhelming evidence of the end times.

Conspiracy Blogs Create Send-Up of Dantalion Jones

People LOVE a mystery.
People LOVE to know a secret.
People LOVE to reveal "secrets" to bring others to their side.

Now, Dantalion Jones, has been linked to a feverish bunch of conspiracy blogs attempting to link him to the Illuminati conspiracy.

.... or has he?

The great people at http://commonsenseconspiracy.com have agree to take part in an unprecedented send up of yours truly.  My advice was to do whatever they could to defame me so that it has the APPEARANCE of literary credibility.

It's a longer and more boring story than is interesting. The visible start of it is on the link below. The short version is that there is ALWAYS something bigger going on behind the scenes! Without giving too much away, let me try to set the scene.

Remember, people will tell you first what you are to think in the hope you will buy it without question.

Things (like articles on blogs) are not always what they first appear to be.

In return I have agreed to promote their blog for the conspiracy minded.

.... and I like their work!!

Things (like articles on blogs) are not always what they first appear to be.

Here is a little secret for you: don't judge what's going on at face value. What is happening is designed to have an unconscious impact on you... that is the nature of media and blog owners are no different.

Before you make a conclusion just consider what is NOT being said. ;-)
  • Is it possible the two blogs mentioned in the post are doing something more than a mere conflict?
  • Is it possible that conflict is a way to distract the readers attention?
  • Could it be that this is in fact an attempt to MAKE you do, think or conclude something that you wouldn't do otherwise?
Everyone is going to have their own conclusion.....

What will yours be? ;-)

PS, Do YOU have a blog that might benefit from a Joint Venture? I've got a very sneaky plan.

It is not the governments, but Scientology members within our governments who are attacking the population with psychotronic mind control attacks; I am one such victim.

-----------------------

Scientology International Nazi satanic cult has been using wireless technologies illegally on athletes to disrupt and affect their performance. They use predictive technologies, using person's health and what they (Scientology using wirelles human body assault and mind control technologies) intend to do to that person using illegal wireless human body assault technologies.

They are attempting to take over student unions. All higher authorities have been contacted.

First, they make bets on performance of teams, then, they wirellessly attack certain athletes for profit. Information about some of the technologies they have been using is available at the following Internet sites: http://aimpointgolf.com http://www.aimglobal.org/technologies, http://www.PIP.com ( bar code technologies have also been applied to humans). In order for them to wireless access human brain, they illegally without our knowledge or consent, physically damage human brain, and that is traceable through same wireless technologies.

Although on the external website it only states how their technologies are used on product, equipment, Scientology organization's hidden technologies and agenda and capabilities is using the same technologies on people. They illegally assigned each of us an IP or barcode. Everything they have done to products, equipment, inventories etc. they have also been using on people illegally for profit; all illegally.

All our emotions, moods, and thoughts have a specific brain frequency, which has been catalogued. And this information is now in the hands of Scientology terrorist Nazi organization which has the ability to manipulate our behaviour and attitudes.

In order for them to access us, they wirellessly damaged our brain stems, and assigned it an IP address, or a technological barcode. They have been murdering athletes for profit, by making bets ahead of time on events.

Some of the technologies have the capability to cause illness in athletes before, during events, cause depression, instantly cry, instantly cause extreme aggression and hatred or even instantly incapacitate the person.

Wireless military technologies are being illegally used, such as psychotronics intended only to be used on the enemy in case of war, Scientology have been illegally using on unsuspecting civilians and can cause some the following symptoms: occular migranes which eliminate middle vision, chronic or temporary or long term fatigue, nasal stuffiness, loss of hair, a feeling of static around the body, blurriness of vision, eye irritation, sleep deprivation, loss of balance, throwing person violently to the ground, "cooking" people with overhead EMF microwaves, localized microwaves being emitted from various sources even a backpack or a briefcase.
More information can be found on: http://www.mindcontrol.usa; http://www.usamicrowavemurder.ning.com;http://www.mindcontrolforums.com;http://mikrowellenterror.de/english;http://www.stopdewnit.org;

Some of the illegal technologies Scientology have been using are: EMF, NRM, V2K, Silent Sound, SIGNALS, DEW, ELF, SIGINT, VDI, EBL, 3D Speech and sound, and numerous others. They send hits to chest, painful wireless signals to anywhere in the body, cause visual hallucinations, instantly evoke another personality, they are able to see through our eyesight as in camera, same as Picture in Picture television technology.

Through the use of these illegal technologies they have the ability to lift a human body instantly, wirellessly steal physical objects without having to enter the premises, alter, delete computer data bases without even having the computer turned on; change the outcome of elections, and even who gets degrees at Universities during dissertations.

Through the use of these illegal technologies they are raping women and children by sending constant wireless signals to genitals (to all including men), prevent people from sleep with these technologies, and are stealing from all of us in too numerous ways to state in an email. They stole and unbelievable amount of money from all of us for their war chest. They stole money from pensions, and now they intend to displace all world's seniors, to cover up their crimes, and force them to return to their respective countries of origin for further control.

They put me in a technological wireless torture chamber, attached a technological wireless reel from me to their computer, and are wirellessly gang stalking me, bombarding me with wireless technological signals, and with constant mind control experiments without my previous knowledge or consent. Human brain has no firewall. Our government did nothing to protect us.

They also have other military wireless dangerous technologies which they have been using on the civilian population and especially on athletes.

They are able to completely incapacitate person instantly, throw that person, and pin them down and murder instantly at will. They attached technological wireless reels to people and connected them to supercomputers for non-consensual mind control experiments, profit, maiming and death, usually after they proffitted or completed their experiments for which they got paid.

Some such technologies can be found on http://www.matrixenergetics.com/pip.aspx to see blocks, leakages, inflamation, depletion etc.

What Scientology Nazi party has done to people is inhumane, in violation of all known human rights treaties and laws, and unconstitutionally used on the public sector. This is a war crime on our whole humanity.

Victims such as I are being subjected to uncontrolled and unacknowledged torture of inhumane proportions, and mental and physical destruction for their profit.

One such family who have and still are profiting, torturing me, invading my body and residence, are Cecil and Sybrich Dam, who reside on Parklawn Crescent, Niagara Falls, Ontario Canada.

They obtained illegal access to military mind control and human body destruction technologies through their son-in-law, a corrupt Caledonia Ontario Provincial cop who resides in Fonthill, Ontario Canada. These people are extremists, hate everyone, they terrorize me and other people, steal, destroy their properties, careers, health and lives. They practise Nazism and satanism. They are members of Scientology Nazi Party satanic cult , are extremely dangerous terrorists and cannot be EVER rehabilitated!

An entirely new arsenal of weapons, based on devices designed to introduce subliminal messages or to alter the body's psychological and data-processing capabilities, might be used to incapacitate individuals. These weapons aim to control or alter the psyche, or to attack the various sensory and data-processing systems of the human organism.

The goal is to confuse or destroy the signals that normally keep the body in equilibrium. The "data" the body receives from external sources--such as electromagnetic, vortex, or acoustic energy waves--or creates through its own electrical or chemical stimuli can be manipulated or changed just as the data (information) in any hardware system can be altered. that all levels of a person's psyche (subconscious, conscious, and "superconscious") are potential targets for destabilization. One computer virus capable of affecting a person's psyche is Virus 666. It manifests itself in every 25th frame of a visual display, where it produces a combination of colors that allegedly put computer operators into a trance. U.S. News and World Report described several of them designed, among other things, to vibrate the insides of humans, stun or nauseate them, put them to sleep, heat them up, or knock them down with a shock wave.

The technologies include dazzling lasers that can force the pupils to close; acoustic or sonic frequencies that cause the hair cells in the inner ear to vibrate and cause motion sickness, vertigo, and nausea, or frequencies that resonate the internal organs causing pain and spasms; and shock waves with the potential to knock down humans or airplanes and which can be mixed with pepper spray or chemicals.

With modification, these technological applications can have many uses. Acoustic weapons, for example, are being adapted for use as acoustic rifles or as acoustic fields and are being illegally used on civilians.

These waves, which can penetrate buildings, offer a host of opportunities. Microwave weapons, by stimulating the peripheral nervous system, can heat up the body, induce epileptic-like seizures, or cause cardiac arrest.

Low-frequency radiation affects the electrical activity of the brain and can cause flu-like symptoms and nausea, induce or prevent sleep, or to affect the signal from the motor cortex portion of the brain, overriding voluntary muscle movements.

Pulse wave weapons: Anti-Psychotronic Center. Psychotronic weapons are those that act to "take away a part of the information which is stored in a man's brain. It is sent to a computer, which reworks it to the level needed for those who need to control the man, and the modified information is then reinserted into the brain."

These weapons are used against the mind to induce hallucinations, sickness, mutations in human cells, "zombification," or even death. Included in the arsenal are VHF generators, X-rays, ultrasound, and radio waves. A psychotronic generator, which produces a powerful electromagnetic emanation capable of being sent through telephone lines, TV, radio networks, supply pipes, and incandescent lamps.

Ultrasound emanations, devices using ultrasound emanations are capable of carrying out bloodless internal operations without leaving a mark on the skin.

The 25th-frame effect, alluded to above, a technique wherein each 25th frame of a movie reel or film footage contains a message that is picked up by the subconscious. Psychotropics, defined as medical preparations used to induce a trance, euphoria, or depression.

Referred to as "slow-acting mines," they could be slipped into the food of a politician or into the water supply of an entire city. Symptoms include headaches, noises, voices or commands in the brain, dizziness, pain in the abdominal cavities, cardiac arrhythmia, or even the destruction of the cardiovascular system.

Reading peoples' thoughts, observing objects that are located just beyond the world; designed to stun the psyche with high frequency waves such as electromagnetic, acoustic, and gravitational; the manipulation or reconstruction of someone's thinking through planned measures such as reflexive control processes; the use of psychotronics, parapsychology, bioenergy, bio fields, and psychoenergy;and.

Transmitting thoughts over a distance, actions involving the manipulation of physical objects using thought power, causing them to move or break apart--used against command and control systems, or to disrupt the functioning of a human being.

Interfering with the thoughts of individuals, on either the strategic or tactical level.

Mind Control - Police Interrogation Tactics

Nothing guarantees a criminal conviction more than a confession. But getting a confession—especially a confession that will hold up in court—is no easy task. To overcome a suspect’s natural impulse to deny guilt—and to avoid having an interrogation halted by a request for a lawyer—criminal justice experts have developed sophisticated interviewing techniques that employ subtle psychological manipulation and observation of body language to bring out the truth.

Perhaps the most influential expert in modern criminal interrogation was the late John E. Reid. Although trained in the use of the polygraph (lie-detector), Reid discovered he could achieve better results through emotional bonding and empathy than with technology. Reid went on to found his own company, John E. Reid and Associates, which continues to teach his technique to police departments throughout North America.

The nine steps of the “Reid Technique” are:

1) Direct Confrontation. The interrogator lays out the evidence that led to the suspect’s arrest, and then offers the suspect an early opportunity to confess.

2) Deflection. If the suspect does not immediately confess, the interrogator suggests that some other person or set of circumstances forced the suspect to commit the crime, this providing the suspect with moral justification for his/her actions. This is called developing a “theme,” which may change over the course of the interrogation depending on how the suspect responds.

3) Dominance. The interrogator insists on doing all the taking, laying out various scenarios to explain how the crime may have occurred. By prohibiting the suspect from responding, the interrogator gives the suspect little or no chance to deny guilt (Once denials start, a confession becomes increasingly difficult to obtain) as well as few opportunities to demand an attorney.

4) Turning Objections into Justifications. At this point, the suspect will give some character-based reason why he/she could not have committed the crime (“I hate violence!”), which a trained interrogator can then twist into an acceptable excuse for why the suspect did what he/she is accused of (“So you really didn’t want to kill him, did you?”)

5) Expressing Empathy. The interrogator continues to express empathy for the suspect, suggesting that he/she would have reacted just like the suspect did under similar circumstances. Again, the idea is to offer the suspect an opportunity to justify the crime within some socially acceptable framework.

6) Offering Alternative Themes. Often, at this point in the interrogation, the suspect becomes quiet and submissive. The interrogator should now offer a number of alternative “themes” or scenarios—along with possible motives—and observe which gets the most response from the suspect.

7) Posing the “Alternative Question.” Once a likely scenario has been established, the interrogator offers two scenarios, the major difference being that one has a more socially acceptable motive than the other. (e.g., “You hated her,” vs. “She gave you no choice.”) At this point, the suspect will usually select the “safer” option, but either way, guilt has been admitted.

8) Repetition. The interrogator has the suspect repeat the confession in front of one or more new witnesses, such as other police officers.

9) Documentation. The interrogator orders the confession written up and then signed by the suspect as quickly as possible.

To make the Reid system work, it’s also vital that the interrogator be trained in reading subtle changes in body language, including eye movements, that can be telltale signs of lying, evasion or insincerity.

Mind Control - 9 Most Depressing Professions

http://www.businessinsurance.org/9-most-depressing-professions/
by Staff Writer
It's easy to get down in the dumps about your job, especially every Sunday night when you realize that the next day is Monday and you have to go to work again. But some careers out there do more than just give workers a case of the Mondays. While people in these fields may be thankful to have a job (the unemployed tend to have higher rates of depression), not every career field is equally fulfilling. Whether it's the hours, the work itself, or, more than likely, a combination of it all, these professions have higher rates of depression or suicide than most.

Comedians

It's hard to believe that someone who is making the world laugh could be depressed. Laughter's the best medicine, right? But most of us don't realize the hard work, years of rejection, and lousy paychecks that go along with becoming a professional funnyman. That's part of the reason comedians are almost twice as likely to commit suicide than the typical American, according to findings by suicide statistician Steven Stack. Many comedians also have tumultuous personal lives and struggle with drugs and alcohol. Some well-known (and unexpected) comedian suicides are SNL cast member Charles Rocket and HBO special regular Richard Jeni.

Waiters

Have you ever been rude to your waitress at a restaurant or done the math wrong and seriously under-tipped? You could be a factor in someone's depression. Just over 10% of people in the food services industry suffered from a bout with major depression in the year looked at by a study by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. Around 15% of women in the industry had an episode of depression that year. This is compared with the national average of 7%. The jobs of wait staff are often thankless with very low pay and little room for advancement. Most work varying shifts and have to take orders from lots of people throughout the day, which can be both exhausting and bad for self esteem.

Artists

All kinds of artists, from painters to musicians to writers, are more likely to be depressed than their less creative counterparts, with many committing suicide. About 9% reported having a major depressive episode in the year looked at by a Health.com study. Depending on the specific profession, the risk of suicide is anywhere from two to almost four times higher than normal. Many experts believe mood disorders, like bipolar disorder and depression, may be linked to creativity, which might make these types of people more likely to choose an artistic career.

Veterinarians

Vets, those smiling people who take your fur children into their arms and fix them up, might not actually be so happy. These pet doctors (or at least the ones studied in the U.K.) are four times as likely as the average person to commit suicide. Vets have high competition early in their careers and work long hours, and the research suggested other possibilities for why vets would be at risk: they have a higher comfort level with euthanasia, they tend to work alone, and they often suffer compassion fatigue.

Teachers

Even though teaching children can be a great joy, many teachers find the job very stressful and end up depressed as a result. Dealing with behavior problems, trying to increase test scores, and handling requests from principals and parents can all lead to teacher burnout and depression. A high number leave the field altogether, often a combination of the stress, the low pay, and the amount of work that they often find themselves taking home to complete.

Physicians

TV may paint a rosy picture of the medical profession, but the reality is much different. Not only are people in the medical field highly likely to be depressed, physicians also have a higher rate of suicide than most professions — between 300 and 400 kill themselves every year. Part of the problem might be that physicians know how to be successful in their attempts since they understand dangerous drugs and how the body works. They also have high-stress jobs, may have trouble balancing their personal life with their work schedule, and may be embarrassed to seek help for mood disorders.

Manual laborers

Even though doctors are on this list, and they're considered a high-prestige occupation, the other end of the spectrum is just as depressing. Manual laborers, like construction workers, maintenance men, and welders, experience high rates of depression within their field. Some studies say they are more than one and a half times as likely to commit suicide as the average person. This is likely because of the lack of respect they receive, the low salaries, and the exhaustion of being a member of the working class. Many manual laborers work atypical hours, have to take work when they can find it, and receive little thanks in return.

Nursing home workers

Personal care providers, which includes those who work at nursing homes and who care for children, are in the most depressing field, according to the Health.com study. Almost 11% of these caretakers battled major depression in the survey year. That's probably not surprising, as nursing home workers face their own mortality every day as they see their patients age and often die. They're relied upon to bathe and feed others, as well as some other unsavory tasks, and often don't get the gratitude they deserve since their patients may be too ill to thank them. Many nursing home workers are also often paid very low wages and worry how they will afford the things they need.

Actors

The lifestyle of famous actors seems glamorous and carefree, but many suffer from major depressive disorders. In fact, actors are more than two and a half times more likely to commit suicide. Actors often keep very busy, stressful schedules, face countless rejections throughout their careers, and feel the intense pressure to please everyone. These stresses are enough to make many break down or send them into a severe depressive episode. Some actors who have suffered from depression at one point or another are Owen Wilson, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and David Arquette.

Scientists Warn of Ethical Battle Concerning Military Mind Control

By JASON KOEBLER

March 20, 2012
Advances in neuroscience are closer than ever to becoming a reality, but scientists are warning the military - along with their peers - that with great power comes great responsibility
A future of brain-controlled tanks, automated attack drones and mind-reading interrogation techniques may arrive sooner than later, but advances in neuroscience that will usher in a new era of combat come with tough ethical implications for both the military and scientists responsible for the technology, according to one of the country's leading bioethicists.
"Everybody agrees that conflict will be changed as new technologies are coming on," says Jonathan Moreno, author ofMind Wars: Brain Science and the Military in the 21st Century. "But nobody knows where that technology is going."
Moreno warns in an essay published in the science journal PLoS Biology Tuesday that the military's interest in neuroscience advancements "generates a tension in its relationship with science."
"The goals of national security and the goals of science may conflict. The latter employs rigorous standards of validation in the expansion of knowledge, while the former depends on the most promising deployable solutions for the defense of the nation," he writes.
Much of neuroscience focuses on returning function to people with traumatic brain injuries, he says. Just as Albert Einstein didn't know his special theory of relativity could one day be used to create a nuclear weapon, neuroscience research intended to heal could soon be used to harm.
"Neuroscientists may not consider how their work contributes to warfare," he adds.
Moreno says there is a fine line between using neuroscience devices to allow an injured person to regain baseline functions and enhancing someone's body to perform better than their natural body ever could.
"Where one draws that line is not obvious, and how one decides to cross that line is not easy. People will say 'Why would we want to deny warfighters these advantages?'" he says.
Moreno isn't the only one thinking about this. The Brookings Institution's Peter Singer writes in his book, Wired for War: The Robotics Revolution and Conflict in the 21st Century, that "'the Pentagon's real-world record with things like the aboveground testing of atomic bombs, Agent Orange, and Gulf War syndrome certainly doesn't inspire the greatest confidence among the first generation of soldiers involved [in brain enhancement research.]"
The military, scientists and ethicists are increasingly wondering how neuroscience technology changes the battlefield. The staggering possibilities are further along than many think. There is already development on automated drones that are programmed to make their own decisions about who to kill within the rules of war. Other ideas that are closer-than-you-think to becoming a military reality: Tanks controlled from half a world away, memory erasures that could prevent PTSD, and "brain fingerprinting" that could be used to extract secrets from enemies.Moreno foretold some of these developments when he first published Mind Wars in 2006, but not without trepidation.
"I was afraid I'd be dismissed as a paranoid schizophrenic when I first published the book," he says. But then a funny thing happened—the Department of Defense and other military groups began holding panels on neurotechnology to determine how and when it should be used. I was surprised how quickly the policy questions moved forward. Questions like: 'Can we use autonomous attack drones?' 'Must there be a human being in the vehicle?' 'How much of a payload can it have?'. There are real questions coming up in the international legal community."
All of those questions will have to be answered sooner than later, Moreno says, along with a host of others. Should soldiers have the right to refuse "experimental" brain implants? Will the military want to use some of this technology before science deems it safe?
"There's a tremendous tension about this," he says. "There's a great feeling of responsibility that we push this stuff out so we're ahead of our adversaries."

Mind Control - The Gaslight Effect: How to Spot and Survive the Hidden Manipulation Others Use to Control Your Life

The Gaslight Effect: How to Spot and Survive the Hidden Manipulation Others Use to Control Your Life

Are You Being Gaslighted?
Check for these telltale signs:
1.
You constantly second-guess yourself.
2. You wonder, “Am I being too sensitive?” a dozen times a day.
3. You wonder frequently if you are a “good enough” girlfriend/wife/employee/friend/daughter.
4. You have trouble making simple decisions.
5. You think twice before bringing up innocent topics of conversation.
6. You frequently make excuses for your partner’s behavior to friends and family.
7. Before your partner comes home from work, you run through a checklist in your head to anticipate anything you might have done wrong that day.
8. You buy clothes for yourself, furnishings for your apartment, or other personal purchases thinking about what your partner would like instead of what would make you feel great.
9. You actually start to enjoy the constant criticism, because you think, “What doesn’t kill me will make me stronger.”
10. You start speaking to your husband through his secretary so you don’t have to tell him things you’re afraid might upset him.
11. You start lying to avoid the put-downs and reality twists.
12. You feel as though you can’t do anything right.
13. You frequently wonder if you’re good enough for your lover.
14. Your kids start trying to protect you from being humiliated by your partner.
15. You feel hopeless and joyless.

Your husband crosses the line in his flirtations with another woman at a dinner party. When you confront him, he asks you to stop being insecure and controlling. After a long argument, you apologize for giving him a hard time.

Your boss backed you on a project when you met privately in his office, and you went full steam ahead. But at a large gathering of staff—including yours—he suddenly changes his tune and publicly criticizes your poor judgment. When you tell him your concerns for how this will affect your authority, he tells you that the project was ill-conceived and you’ll have to be more careful in the future. You begin to question your competence.

Your mother belittles your clothes, your job, your friends, and your boyfriend. But instead of fighting back as your friends encourage you to do, you tell them that your mother is often right and that a mature person should be able to take a little criticism.

If you think things like this can’t happen to you, think again. Gaslighting is when someone wants you to do what you know you shouldn’t and to believe the unbelieveable. It can happen to you and it probably already has.

How do we know? If you consider answering “yes” to even one of the following questions, you’ve probably been gaslighted:

Does your opinion of yourself change according to approval or disapproval from your spouse?

When your boss praises you, do you feel as if you could conquer the world?

Do you dread having small things go wrong at home—buying the wrong brand of toothpaste, not having dinner ready on time, a mistaken appointment written on the calendar?

Gaslighting is an insidious form of emotional abuse and manipulation that is difficult to recognize and even harder to break free from. That’s because it plays into one of our worst fears—of being abandoned—and many of our deepest needs: to be understood, appreciated, and loved. In this groundbreaking guide, the prominent therapist Dr. Robin Stern shows how the Gaslight Effect works and tells you how to:
Turn up your Gaslight Radar, so you know when a relationship is headed for trouble

Determine whether you are enabling a gaslighter

Recognize the Three Stages of Gaslighting: Disbelief, Defense, and Depression

Refuse to be gaslighted by using the Five Rules for Turning Off the Gas

Develop your own “Gaslight Barometer” so you can decide which relationships can be saved—and which you have to walk away from

Mind Control - How To Leave a Cult

  • 1
Recognize if you're in an abusive religious group. In some places these are called "cults"; in others, "sects" or "fundamentalist" groups. Cults generally involve aggressive misinformation or misinterpretation ("brainwashing"), self-aggrandizement and even worship of a leader, isolation from and disrespect of outsiders, and undermining members' self-esteem.

    Is Saturday the Sabbath?

The True Sabbath Explained Here! Clear Facts from the Bible.
    www.rcg.org
    • If a religious group seems odd, but one wouldn't have to "escape" it, don't panic. It's probably not a cult. Join, stay, or leave, as you are persuaded.

  • 2
Think through the reasons that cause you to want to leave the cult. Are any of these reasons based on abuse, oppression, lack of freedom of thought/speech/mobility, etc.? If so, consider seeking help from authorities who can intervene where laws are being broken.

  • 3
Plan your departure. If you're in a cult that lives in a compound, you might be planning an escape rather than a mere departure. Where this is the case (and if you're even allowed to be reading this article), you'll need to plan very carefully and take any possible opportunity that arises to leave. Either have your bag packed and carefully stowed away, or simply be prepared to forget any possessions and get ready to go at a moment's notice. Even if you can leave at your own leisure, leaving will be no picnic in the park.

  • 4
Leave. If you're getting away in a hurry from a live-in cult, use opportunities such as when people visit, when you are taken somewhere else outside the compound, when others in your compound decide to make a break for it at the same time (if you know that you can trust them). If you're leaving at your own pace, arrange for collection of you and your possessions by taxi, or a friend or family member not involved in the cult. If you don't need to physically leave the cult but you do need to break ties with it, then not returning to services will be the first indication that you have gone.

  • 5
Try to have a place to stay in mind in advance. If you've left a live-in cult arrangement, you'll need a safe place to stay. Consider family, friends, refuges (shelters), or even a mainstream church charity. If you're in danger, the authorities should be able to help.

  • 6
Be prepared for recriminations and attempts to get you back. Cultists tend to despise those who break ranks and threaten to expose what is really happening inside the cult. You will be viewed as a traitor and as someone who might be worth vilifying and telling lies about. Be prepared for this possibility. Alternately, they might seek to get you back by telling you that you're confused, that the evil from the outside has infected you, and that you need to return to be cleansed and restored. The important thing is to stand firm in believing that your choice to move on is right and that they might try anything. If you're afraid that they might try to physically take you back, seek protection. Finally, be prepared for excommunication and no further word. That can actually hurt a lot more than it might seem initially because suddenly you are forever cut off from those people you once knew really well. This is the time to get the support of other people who now surround you.

  • 7
Remain strong in your convictions and beliefs. Your faith will be tested. You might want to read spiritual texts, read a variety of books with different interpretations of those spiritual texts, and visit other religious groups. It can also help to read about the experiences of other people who have broken away from cults to draw strength from how they coped with it.

  • 8
Seek support from other people. Many people are sympathetic even if they don't understand the challenges facing those who exit a cult. Sometimes you might also need the help of an expert who specializes in reframing the lives of those who have experienced a cult lifestyle.

  • 9
Continue journeying. Eventually you will be able to talk with others about your experiences and this might even translate to being able to help others in a similar bind. There are support networks online for people who have left cults; you might want to tap into those resources to share stories and spread support. In terms of your own spiritual journey, remain open-minded. The choice of some people to turn beliefs into cultish behaviors and narrow-minded self absorption is the exception rather than the rule. Most people of faith nurture their faith through reaching out to everyone in the community and lead lives that combine the secular and faith in tandem. This is worth striving for to ensure that you are whole and connected. Good luck!

  • If you still live near members of the cult, they might be spiteful or spread gossip about you. Warn friends, neighbors, etc., of what has happened. Remain polite when you see them around the streets and your persistence in being strong and polite will place you on the higher ground. You never know who might be contemplating the same move as you, so showing that it works can be a sign of support for them.

Mind Control - 44 Body Language Mistakes You’re Probably Making

Like the myth that we only use 10% of our brains, the idea that 93% of communication is non-verbal stubbornly persists because people just won't shut up about it. However, the real figure is believed to be about 60-70%, which means body language is still more important than spoken words in getting your point across. Sometimes the signals we send are natural symptoms of how we really feel, and sometimes they're completely unintentional and unwanted. Hopefully you aren't making every mistake on this list, but here are 44 common ways your body may be talking behind your back.

    On a Date

    1. Crowding them: Personal space means just that. Find the right balance between being seductively close to your date and stepping on their toes the entire night, or else they will think you are desperate. And nothing kills romance like a whiff of desperation.
    2. 10-foot pole: On the other hand, if you are overly concerned with keeping plenty of breathing room between you and your partner, they may become self-conscious or think that you are aloof and uninterested.
    3. Crossing your arms: Ladies, if you don't want a guy to think you don't like him, resist the urge to cross your arms and jut your hips out. For fellas, crossed arms imply arrogance, annoyance, or boredom, all messages you probably want to avoid.
    4. Leaning too far in: Just like with shaking hands, there's a fine line between appearing interested and breathing down your date's throat at the table. You'll come off needy or aggressive.
    5. Holding your drink too high: When's the last time you wondered how the way you hold your drink affects your "vibe?" Holding it close to the body and protectively says you're shy, while holding it with crossed arms is an ice-queen pose.
    6. Nodding too much: You want your girl to know you're right with her in the conversation, so you're nodding constantly. Ironically, people can take this to mean you're faking interest and are some kind of phony.

    At Work

    1. Shaking hands too hard: We get it, a firm handshake means confidence. But we'd much rather discover that you are self-assured by speaking to you than having our fingers crushed.
    2. Weak handshake: It's tough to say which is worse, the too-hard or the too-weak handshake. Men and women equate a weak grip with weak character, which neither a boss nor a romantic interest find desirable.
    3. Wearing the wrong clothes: Clothes are a part of body language you ignore at your own peril in the business world. Clothes too baggy, too ratty, too sexy, too wrinkled: all of these tell employers you are not responsible enough to work for them.
    4. Ignoring people: A presenter has no way of knowing that you are taking notes on your iPhone, not texting or scrolling Facebook, and is liable to think you are being extremely rude. Use a pen and paper to avoid a miscommunication.
    5. Preening: Gussying up has its place in the mating world, but in a business environment straightening your tie or patting down hair makes people think you're vain or arrogant.
    6. Not gesturing: When making a presentation, if your arms are too still people will be off-put and think you're nervous, even if you aren't. If you're not a natural gesticulator, force yourself to incorporate a bit of gesturing.
    7. Over-gesturing: On the other hand, a recent survey of hiring managers found gesturing with the hands too much was in the top five of reasons employers would be less likely to hire an applicant, so don't overdo it.
    8. Turning your back on the audience: Make sure you practice your business presentation enough that you don't need to turn to look at the screen behind you, simply because no one wants to look at your behind.
    9. Not looking at everyone: Nobody likes to feel ignored. If you have a job interview with multiple interviewers, even if one never asks you a question, be sure to regularly make eye contact with him or her.

    For Women

    1. The Scissors Stance: Crossing the legs while standing is typically a female thing. It may be fine in social situations, but don't do it at work because it implies submission, vulnerability, and even negativity.
    2. The partial arm cross: This is another entry from the world of women. Grabbing one arm with the other hand is like a one-armed hug for yourself, and it tells people you need calming down or reassurance.
    3. Tilting your head: Some of you ladies may be guilty of sending the wrong signal to male coworkers by tilting your head to the side while listening to them. They are probably seeing that as a flirtatious move, even if you only mean to convey agreement.

    For Men

    1. Not shaving: Guys who don't shave regularly run the risk of being perceived as lazy and sloppy, not ideal qualities in an employee or a boyfriend.
    2. The Figure Four: In this position, you sit with one leg crossed over the other at a 90-degree angle. It may be comfortable but it implies a competitive attitude and, when coupled with the "hand clamp" (holding the crossed leg with both hands), it conveys stubborn intransigence.
    3. Cracking your knuckles: For one thing, the sound of cracking knuckles is disgusting to everyone within earshot who isn't you. It's also seen as a macho-poser move for guys.

    Sitting

    1. Sitting on the edge of your seat: Athletes on the bench of a losing team sit forward because they're tense and nervous. If you do this in a job interview or on a date you'll look the same way.
    2. The Ankle Lock: Courtroom defendants are three times as likely as plaintiffs to sit with ankles locked before a trial. It's a blatant defense mechanism that gives away the fact you're afraid or uncertain.
    3. Leaning back: Leaning back in your chair says, "Keep talking, boss/girlfriend; I'm just going to get comfortable while you blather about earnings/your day."
    4. Tap dancing: If you just have lots of energy and bounce your knees or tap your feet without realizing it, you may want to train yourself to stop. Tapping feet or hands signify impatience, nervousness, or boredom.

    Standing

    1. Shifting weight: When you have to stand to give a presentation or are at a bar, you may get tired and need to shift your weight from one foot to the other. This may instinctively look like weakness to others.
    2. Pocketed hands: Take comfort in the fact that nobody else knows what to do with their hands either. So remove your mitts from your pants pockets because it looks like you're indifferent or unconfident.
    3. Walking small: Politicians walk with big strides because doing so exudes energy and confidence. If you walk slowly or shuffle people will associate it with uncertainty and weakness.
    4. Hunching your shoulders: Poor posture and slouching suggests to onlookers that you have no spine, literally and figuratively. Even if you aren't feeling it, you can fake confidence just by sitting up straight.

    Eyes

    1. Rapid-fire blinking: If you're excessively blinking because you've got a contact out of place or something, people may think you're uncomfortable or arrogant, as if you're too important to even look at them.
    2. Hawk eyes: Squinting can be a good way to convey keen focus on what someone else is saying, but it can also be mistakenly interpreted as distrust or uncertainty over the accuracy of what the other person said.
    3. Staring: Blinking is natural; long periods of looking at someone without blinking weirds people out and can convey aggression or even dishonesty.
    4. Searching for inspiration: If you look around before you open your mouth or while you're speaking, you're non-verbally saying you don't really know what you're talking about.
    5. Looking for the exit: If you're shy and have trouble making eye contact, it could be a problem. If your lady friend is telling you all about her job as a dental hygienist and you're looking anywhere but in her eyes, she'll think you're bored and wanting to bail.
    6. Saying hi to your shoes: You have to bow your head to look down, and if you do that in an interaction with someone, you've just silently told them you submit to their authority.

    General

    1. Feeling your face: When you're nervous, you may get the urge to touch your face or rub the back of your neck. These are sure-fire ways to let everyone know you're nervous, so avoid them.
    2. Letting your mood determine your body language: If you let it, your emotions will seep out through your body language. But you can flip this around by forcing yourself to smile, for example, and your mood actually will improve.
    3. Checking the time: Looking at your watch may be a completely innocent act of seeing what time it is. Nevertheless, it's almost impossible for a person you're speaking with to not interpret it as you being bored.
    4. Biting your nails: You may only be doing it out of habit and boredom, but the message people get when they see you biting your nails is that you're anxious.
    5. Letting them see you sweat: You might be nervous, but unless they can smell you or you're in a white shirt, the best way to ensure they know you're nervous is to visibly wipe your sweaty palms on your pants. Just leave them alone and try to relax.
    6. Pursed lips: Your lips may be giving you away without words coming though them. Pursing your lips can convey distrust or disapproval.
    7. Yawning: You're exhausted from a late night yesterday. But hide your yawns or conversation partners will be positive they're boring you and will be offended.

    Misusing Body Language

    1. Attributing too much to one signal: Did someone pass you in the hallway and not return your smile? Don't make the mistake of automatically thinking they hate your guts; there's probably another explanation.
    2. Not getting the message: Is it possible people have been non-verbally telling you that you have bad breath or that you're on thin ice? The body language mistake you're making is not reading the signs, so open your eyes!
